Tom grew up all over the country and world (6th of 7 children) as a military brat and graduated from Lake Braddock High School in 1984, Cornell University in 1988, and Northwestern School of Law in 1995. After working for big law firms for several years, Tom opened his solo law practice in 2007, which he continues to run. In 2015, Tom ran for the Sully District Representative of the Fairfax County School Board and won. Tom is the father of four children, all of whom have been or are Fairfax County School students. He is also uncle to 18 nieces and nephews. Tom is the only father on the School Board who has a child currently attending FCPS schools. He and his wife, Kerry, a Speech Language Pathologist, live in Franklin Farm with their children and two dogs, Saint and Jefferson. They have been married for 29 years and are active parishioners at St. Veronica parish in Chantilly.
